Call for Papers: Special Issue on Geodesy and Survey Engineering

Deadline for Paper Submission: October 20, 2018

Engineering is an international peer-reviewed academic journal sponsored by Chinese Academy of Engineering. The journal is published on a bimonthly basis in English. Online versions are available through and

Remarkable advances over recent years give an evidence that geodesy today develops under a broad spectrum of interactions, including theory, science, engineering, technology, observation, and practice-oriented services. Geodetic science accumulates significant results in studies of classical geodetic problems as well as the problems that only emerged in many cases as a consequence of synergistic activities in geodesy and tremendous advances in the instrumentations, computational and engineering facilities. The special issue “Geodesy and Survey Engineering” of Engineering seeks for leading researches and establishment of a forum for the discussion of recent progresses on (a) reference frames, (b) gravity field and its temporal variations, (c) Earth rotation and geodynamics, (d) positioning, navigation and timing, (e) engineering surveying, and (f) Global Geodetic Observation System. This issue will publish original research papers and reviews including but not limited to the following fields:

  • ·         Studies on global/regional reference frames
  • ·         Determination of the gravity field and its temporal variations, and Height datum
  • ·         New concepts and techniques for Positioning, Navigation and Timing
  • ·         Marine geodesy and surveying
  • ·         Engineering surveying applications
  • ·         BeiDou Satellite Navigation System and multi-GNSS progress
  • ·         Satellite Missions for Earth observation: New methods and results
  • ·         Global Geodetic Observation System: Recent developments
